Here is how I have saved thousands of dollars throughout the years. Whenever you break a bill whether it is a dollar, $5 or even a $50 bill consider this as change that will go into a savings jar. I stash money in my ash tray in my car and empty it once a month into the bank and also into different jars in the house. Each one is marked for either pennies, silver coins or paper money. Can’t save this way? Try another trick I use. Decide to never spend a certain denomination and never spend it. Try starting with $5 first and expand from there. I have saved this way for vacations and even bought a long wished for boat. Most of it, though, just goes into the bank for emergencies.
